February Wrap-up + Favorites [2017]

feb2017.png

Hey there! ✨

I know, February ended like weeks ago and this wrap-up is way too late now but I committed on posting monthly so we will push through this post late or not! February was such a great month for me bookish-wise, I unlocked an achievement during its first week. So if you want to know just read-on to find out.

wrap1

My February reads were mostly ARCs and a few blog tour books. The Mitch Albom book was a required reading for school and I’m still reading ASOUE, so basically out of these ten books I only read one random book on my TBR that is not an ARC.

Books I already reviewed: (titles are linked to my reviews)

Upcoming reviews to look out for: (titles are linked to their Goodreads page)

Other books read: (titles are linked to their Goodreads page)

For Blogging, I mostly posted book reviews last month and most of them are already linked above. I definitely produced more content last February compared to the other previous months and here are my other posts:

As for my reading/blogging notes, uhm I’ll talk more about stuff later but last month I did join a couple of blog tours which I was hesitant to do before, and I’m halfway through the ASOUE.

Picture13.pngThe Inexplicable Logic of My Life is one of my most anticipated reads for 2017, I was SO happy when I got approved to read it on Netgalley. And unexpectedly, I loved it like seriously I was so into the book that I basically cried through every page. If you’ve read my and other people’s reviews you might have heard that this book is somehow problematic and I acknowledged that but I still love it. The characters are the best part, Sal is a precious cinnamon roll that you just want to protect from the world. This book definitely deserves a spot on favorites shelf.

Picture14.pngBEST MOVIE EVER. I swear, my heart was soaring all throughout the movie! Hidden Figures is about these three girls working at NASA, and it’s based on real-life events and people. AND IT’S SO AMAZING AND INSPIRATIONAL AND EMPOWERING AND AHHHHH. It’s an uplifting movie that I see myself re-watching 999x because it’s that good. I liked the characters, plot, even the cinematography and musical score were spot-on. I’m really, really disappointed that it didn’t win anything on Oscars, it deserves more recognition!!

Picture15Before I watched Hidden Figures La la Land was my favorite movie for the month, yup I liked it because of its ending. Many tears were shed while I was watching this, but what I really love is their soundtrack! My favorite song for the month is A Lovely Night, I think I had it on repeat for a whole week? It’s so nice and the tap dancing part is cute and romantic and everything!! Of course I also liked City of Stars and Audition (The Fools Who Dream).

Picture16.pngFor my favorite album of the month, the one that I have played countless of times is The Little Prince OST. I know it’s pretty late, I have seen the movie last year but I don’t know how I ended up watching a video of the song Suis-moi by Camille but it’s so GOOD, the title is linked to the video so just click there to listen to it. Here’s the thing it’s in French like most of the songs in the album, I just find the songs so relaxing. It feels like I’m at France or something and it’s such a great album to listen to while reading.

February was really a bookish month for me, during the first week of it I received my very first bookmail as a blogger from Penguin Random House. I still can’t believe that they sent me physical, tangible, real-life books???!!! I have only dreamed of receiving books to read and review before but now it’s already happening. I just want to say thank you to PRH Global for sending me those copies and to each and every one of you who reads my blog because this wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for you all!

Anyways, last month I also bought a few titles including More Happy Than Not that I’m really excited and nervous (because I know that it’ll make me cry!) to read. So yeah, that’s all I can share for February just a bookmail and some book purchases. Lol, I’m sorry my life is not interesting!

Oh, I joined a contest that involves using HAM or Amateur Radios as part of the International Thinking day celebration. Other than that and some other school stuff, my life’s really a meh.

  1. Louise, thank you for posting all those book reviews! I love reading them and I understand how time-consuming it is to post just one review. Book reviewing is not that easy. I personally struggled with the reviewing part in February because of a blogging slump and school. Hoping to get the number up once I finish school for this term. (I’m looking at you, summer hols*please be my saviour*) Also, the way you wrapped everything up with that gif you made was amazing. I constantly draw inspiration from you, Louise❤Keep up the fantastic blogging work!

    • Aww thanks, Anj! 😊💕 I’ve also been struggling in running my blog in general, even now that I have the time because it’s already my summer vacation, I’m stuck in a slump 😑. Hopefully, we’ll both get off the slump soon! (or that you’ve already gotten out of it 💕)

Thank you so much again, Anj! You’re so sweet 😆. xx

  2. Great wrap-up, Louise 🙂 And it’s never too late to post one, trust me!
I really want to read #famous but I’ll check out the others too and see if they interest me. Not that my TBR needs any more books but, you know XD
